This conference is for any professional portrait photographer who wants to learn more about running a solid, successful business. The content will be applicable to all levels, and for more specific training you’ll be able to choose the breakout sessions that best fit your interests and level.
Who are the educators involved in these classes?
Our speakers have more than 150 years of cumulative experience in the industry. They can boast of multiple degrees, certifications, awards and endless hours of practical, on-the-job learning. While we think all of these facts are worthy, these speakers are selected specifically for their expertise as successful, working photographers. Our speakers are working professionals, selected for the education, experience and knowledge they apply every day in their own businesses. You won’t find these folks on the professional speaking circuit and teaching at all the popular conferences ( they’re busy running real businesses!)
What’s included in the registration fee?
Your registration fee includes 2 days (April 20 & 21)of main sessions and breakout sessions led by some of the top working photographers in the industry. It also includes lunch and beverages and snacks throughout both days. Early-bird and regular registration is available. You have the choice to add-on optional events as well (April 19th and 22nd).
Where will the conference be held?
The conference will take place at a venue in Washington DC (location details to be announced soon!)
What is the closest airport?
Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the airport that serves downtown DC most directly, however Dulles International Airport (IAD) is just outside the downtown core and has public transit connections to the venue. The Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is also nearby, but will require a car rental in order to reach downtown Washington DC.
We have selected the conference dates to be the most budget friendly for travelling. Be sure to compare prices with your favorite airlines and airports.
Will there be live streaming or a video for sale after the conference?
No. Some things are best learned and experienced in person. This is one of them.
Will I get a chance to ask questions?
Yes! This conference is designed to help ensure that the speakers are accessible and available often. Each of the speakers will make time for questions at the end of their sessions, and there will be dedicated time for Q&A during panel discussions. In addition, many of the speakers will be available during breaks, and during optional one-on-one mentoring sessions as well, so you can connect with them then.
Will I get any individual attention?
Oh yes! We’ll have time set aside for networking each morning of the event. Our health breaks and lunch hour are great times to ask questions and connect with others. There will be some optional evening events, like our Meet and Greet the evening before the conference. In addition some of the Breakout Sessions will include time for you to get one-on-one attention from the session leaders so you can get feedback on your sales process and pricing, if you desire it. The Panel Discussion is also a great place to ask questions and of course, you can sign up for some one-on-one mentoring with some of our popular speakers as well!
What are the options for accommodations?
More details will be available once the venue has been confirmed, but Washington DC does not lack hotels in every budget range.
What is the refund policy?
Registration is non-refundable but you are welcome to transfer your seat to someone else if you are unable to attend the conference.
What is the recording policy?
All recording, video or audio, is strictly prohibited during the entire event.
Is this conference sponsored by anyone?
This conference is created by photographers, for photographers. We’ve worked hard to keep this as an independent learning opportunity. This conference does not have corporate sponsorship.
